The Lowcountry’s Finest fishing

Captain Kenneth "KC" Crosby: A Lifetime on Charleston’s Waterways

A native of James Island, SC, Captain Kenneth Crosby is a seasoned fishing guide with a lifelong connection to the Lowcountry’s waterways. Growing up in what was once a small coastal town, he was immersed in a rich fishing heritage, learning the trade from his father and grandfather—both skilled fishermen who instilled in him a deep respect for marine life and the environment.

In 1973, Captain Horace Crosby built Crosby’s Fish & Shrimp, a cornerstone of Charleston’s seafood industry. From an early age, Kenneth could be found at “the Dock,” sweeping floors, working the register, and selling bait. By the time he was 12 years old, he was promoted to cutting fish, further sharpening his skills in fishing, crabbing, and shrimping—all while serving both locals and visitors with the freshest catches.

With decades of hands-on experience, Kenneth has developed an unmatched knowledge of Charleston’s inshore and nearshore waters, understanding seasonal fish patterns, prime fishing spots, and the best techniques to target species like redfish, trout, and flounder. Whether guiding seasoned anglers or first-time fishermen, his passion for Lowcountry fishing and conservation shines through every trip.
